General information for 2012:
All volunteers are required to fill out the volunteer application for 2012 and are required to have a background check. ALL NEW Head Coaches, are required to attend training in person, location is TBD, (highly recommend that Assistant Coaches attend as well, but not required). There will be online training available for Assistant Coaches, more Information will be provided from the Mid-South Regional Office. stay tuned.
Coaches that were certified for 2011, your certifications are good for 3 years.
Seeking Children For The Different Divisions: Please remember, we all need to continue to have our league grow; so, I ask that while you seek your players for the 2012 season, don't forget to seek children in general for Va North Pop Warner.
Roster Size: Minimum is 20 players, maximum is 35 players for all divisions except for TM
We are already receiving calls from different organizations that want and will join us for 2012 as an Association or teams joining The Prince William Association to our League; stemming from Arlington, Alexandria City, Dale City, Lake Ridge, Manassas City, Manassas and Lorton, Springfield and other Fairfax surrounding areas.
Boundaries will be in effect for 2012 season: Your children that played with you for the 2011 season will be grand- fathered; however, once they decide to leave their grand- fathered team, they will not be able to go back to you, they will be assigned to their boundary area.
We want to have teams that can fill the Prince William Vikings and Panther teams, so keep looking for kids!

Things to remember: Pop Warner Playing season shall be defined as August 1st through December 31st or the last game/competition, whichever comes first. Disciplinary action for violations of Pop Warner rules and regulations will apply with a fine to the team that practices before the official playing season.
Head Coaches: Must be 21; Assistant Coaches must be at least 18 years of age.
Head NEW Coaches must attend a Nationally Approved Clinic. More info will be provided as information becomes available.
Red Cross/CPR Training: One of the coaches must be the holder of a current Red Cross Certificate in the Community CPR and First Aid, or the P.R.E.P.A.R.E course by the National Center for Sport Safety (www.sportssafety.org) or their equivalent.
What Region does Virginia North Pop Warner belong to? We are in the Mid-South Region.
Background Checks: The League will be running background checks on all volunteers. We will be using a National Background check for a small fee. (Will be updated with fee info in Mid-March).
